Block trades settlement
Trading at Settlement (TAS) allows you to buy or sell an eligible futures contract during up to 10 tickets higher or lower than the current day’s settlement price. Metals futures traders frequently incorporate TAS transactions into their trading strategies, executed for outright, spread, or block trades. A group of 14 banks, led by UBS, is eyeing blockchain for trade settlement use across borders in a process that uses tokens. Elsewhere, blockchain is gaining traction in efforts to boost supply chain efficiencies across pharma and other verticals. Blockchain is gaining traction as a means to settle transactions done across borders. London based SETL already utilizes a blockchain platform for settlement of payments. They empower participants to deploy their own blockchain within minutes. In 2016, India based uTrade was the first Indian company to employ a blockchain technology for trade settlement. Their “uClear” blockchain platform allows for real time clearing and settlement of securities.
